MATTHEW 10:29–31
“Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.”
STOP HIDING
The rooftop wasn’t only a place where you could see.
Because of its elevation, it was also a place where you could be seen.
That changes the picture.
Jesus is calling His disciples to stand somewhere their witness can be publicly identified.
And He knows that can feel uncomfortable.
So before telling them to confess Him before others, Jesus reminds them of something deeper:
Your Father sees you.
Your Father knows you.
Your Father values you.
Even the hairs on your head are numbered.
Jesus combats the fear of people with confidence in the Father.
You don’t have to hide because somebody might judge you.
You don’t have to shrink because somebody remembers your past.
You don’t need everybody standing on the ground to approve of you standing on the rooftop.
You know Who sent you up there.
While people are looking up at you—
Remember your Father is looking down at you.
Their opinion doesn’t determine your value.
Their rejection doesn’t cancel your assignment.
Their response doesn’t determine whether you testify.
So stop hiding.
Stand where you can be seen.
And let your life point to Jesus.
REFLECT
Whose opinion has made me want to hide parts of what Jesus has done in my life?
Am I more conscious of who is watching me on earth than the Father who sees me from heaven?
TODAY’S STEP
Do one thing today that publicly identifies you with Jesus.
Don’t perform.
Don’t try to impress anyone.
Simply refuse to hide your faith because of someone else’s opinion.
PRAYER
Father, thank You that I am seen, known, and valued by You. Deliver me from allowing people’s opinions to control my obedience. Give me confidence to stand openly with Jesus and courage to let my life point others toward Him. Amen.
